Cancellation in view of COVID-19

We are heartened by the confidence that you have placed in The Ascott Limited by choosing to stay with us. The well-being of all members of the Ascott family – our guests, staff and associates – is of paramount importance to us. To ensure your safety, we are taking all necessary precautionary measures in accordance with the guidelines from the World Health Organization (https://www.who.int) and public health authorities in the respective countries.

In view of COVID-19, our team is ready to exercise flexibility including waiving cancellation fees for guests who have to change travel plans during this period. We have also recently updated our policy to allow refunds in ASR points for unused reservations made before 20 April 2020. Guests will be awarded a 20% bonus on top of the reservation value in ASR points for these refunds. Some exclusions may apply.

Please contact our Global Reservations team (enquiry@the-ascott.com) for assistance. Guests who booked through online travel agents or other third-party travel providers are advised to contact the agents for assistance.

ASR points as a refund option

We understand that your upcoming stay may have been affected by the COVID-19 situation. Recognising the ongoing uncertainty, we have updated our policy to allow refund of your unused reservations in ASR points. What’s more, you will be awarded a 20% bonus on top of the reservation value in ASR points for your refund, bringing you more flexibility and options as you plan your future stays.

Example 

Advance Purchase 

For a S$100 Advance Purchase reservation that you have paid for, you will receive S$120 in points value (48,000 ASR points) in your ASR membership account. 

 

Best Flexible 

For a S$100 Best Flexible reservation that does not require pre-payment, you will be charged S$100, and subsequently receive S$120 in points value (48,000 ASR points) in your ASR membership account. 

Validity 

Booking Period: for all existing bookings made before 20 April 2020  

Stay Period: for stays until 30 June 2020 

Valid for all ASR participating properties  

Redeem your ASR points with ease on our brand websites which offer the lowest rates and other rewards for members. The points will also be valid for the 2 years from date of issue.   

To opt for the ASR points refund when cancelling a reservation, please contact the property or email our ASR team (enquiry.member@the-ascott.com) with your reservation details and ‘ASR points refund’ in the email title. We will get back to you as soon as possible. With high enquiry volumes, the handling process may take up to 4 weeks. 

For reservations made through online booking platforms or third-party travel agencies/professionals, please contact them directly. We have advised them of our refund policy, existing third-party terms and conditions may prevail.
